Tom Clancy’s ‘The Division’ News & Updates: 3 Latest Scoops About Ubisoft’s Game Amid Widespread Criticisms And Exploits

Following the release of Tom Clancy's "The Division" DLC last month, game publisher Ubisoft has been struggling with criticisms, not to mention the widespread hacks, cheats and exploits. As quickly as "The Division" became the publisher's most successful title, the game has recently become one hacked-up mess.

When Tom Clancy's "The Division" was released in March, game experts believed that the game might leave other games in its shadows. Aside from being the most popular game on Xbox One, Ubisoft's third person shooter video game also broke sales records and surpassed many expectations.

Unfortunately, Tom Clancy's "The Division" appears to be getting worse despite several patches, hotfixes and maintenance. As "The Division" continues to solve a series of glitches, here are 3 latest scoops about the game.

1. Tom Clancy's "The Division" Needs A "Complete Rewrite" To Fix Glitches

Glenn Fiedler, a game-networking consultant for Sony's "God of War" series and Respawn's "Titanfall," recently explained that Tom Clancy's "The Division" networking structure was the major problem of the game. According to Fiedler, the continued problems in "The Division" can't be fixed through patches.

Fiedler suggested that Tom Clancy's "The Division" would have to be totally reworked to run a complete and trusted version of the game on the server. He also stressed a complete rewrite would be the solution to fix the technical problems in "The Division."

"I sincerely hope [this trusted client model] is not the case [in "The Division"], because if it is true, my opinion of can this be fixed is basically no," Fiedler wrote on his blog. "Not on PC. Not without a complete rewrite. ... If a competitive FPS was networked [with a trusted client network model]... it's really difficult for me to see how this could ever be made completely secure on PC."

2. Tom Clancy's "The Division" Console Versions Can Be Fixed But With A Lot Of Work

For Tom Clancy's "The Division" console versions, the outlook appears quite brighter. Unfortunately, Ubisoft needs a lot of work to solve the problems.

"[Ubisoft would need to] fix all lag switch timing exploits and disable players moving and shooting while lag switch usage is detected," Fiedler suggested.

3. Tom Clancy's "The Division" Elite Bug Has Been Fixed

Over the past several days, the strange Elite bug in Tom Clancy's "The Division" has ignited a new wave of controversy. Fortunately, Ubisoft community manager Hamish Bode confirmed that the bug will be fixed during the scheduled maintenance period on Apr. 28 but weapon balance changes in "The Division" won't be addressed.
