Religion is a part of a person's life from the day they were born. It doesn't matter what your beliefs are as parents because whether you like it or not, it would create a huge impact on your child. Most parents, especially the religious ones, would choose to raise their children with the same faith that they were raised with. But is that really a good idea?

The topic of religion has been quite a touchy subject for most people. But it needs to be addressed since its effects on a child could last until they have their own families. Before you share your religion with your children, here are three important things that you need to know as their parents:

1. Positivity And Reduction Of Stress

There are studies saying that parents who are teaching religion to their children could help them reduce stress. The idea of them doing the will of God also brings positivity to their lives. It is good to impart this kind of energy to your children, as it would help them with their lives as well, especially in school.

2. Dependency and Fear

Although there are positive things about religion, there are also negative aspects that parents should know. This is especially true if they are forcing their kids to be in one.

Religion has the ability to blind their perception to the point that they won't be able to think freely for themselves. There is also a huge tendency that they would be living in fear if the religion they have is something that was imposed and was not something they discovered on their own.

3. Strengthens Family Ties and Moral Values

Religion has the ability to strengthen children's relationship with their parents. They become more open and they see their parents as trustworthy. 

There are also families who could attest that their kids have grown up to have strong moral values. Mostly because it was imposed but it still contributed to their kids and their principles when it comes to their moral values.
