Man attacked at Taco Bell for burping without saying 'excuse me'

A man from South Carolina was recently attacked at a Taco Bell in Tega Cay for burping without saying excuse me, according to reports.

Police officials confirmed that the 20-year-old man was dining with his friend when he burped rather loudly.

Another customer who was dining at the same fast food chain approached the man and asked if he was the one who burped without saying "excuse me." This immediately led to a physical confrontation between the two.

The man then went after the victim using a chair and struck his left elbow. He continued hurting the victim by choking him by the throat and even attempted to head-butt him, the police report stated. Officials responded to a call at about 4:30 in the afternoon Sunday on West South Carolina 160.

A restaurant staff stepped in to stop the confrontation from escalating further and asked the man to leave. He drove off aboard a white vehicle, although the plate number of the vehicle was not recorded by anyone at the scene.

The victim suffered a minor cut on his left elbow and redness around his throat area. He narrated what happened to police officials, who are currently searching for the man at large. According to the victim, he said that he and his friend were just eating at a booth at Taco Bell when the attacker, who was seated with a woman, asked him the odd question.

Taco Bell's branch manager told police officials that he isn't sure if the surveillance cameras installed at the chain recorded the incident.

As of late, police officials have not yet conducted an arrest and personal details about the attacker and his victim have been kept private.
