‘Steven Universe’ Season 3 Spoilers, News & Updates: ‘Stevonnie’ Returns! Rebecca Sugar Hints On Peridot’s First Fusion

Series creator Rebecca Sugar also shared in a recent interview that there will be an entirely musical episode of the show coming up. Which characters will fuse?

"Steven Universe" Season 3 spoilers hint on the return of the well-loved fusion between Steven and Connie called "Stevonnie." According to Movie Pilot, series creator Rebecca Sugar has previously revealed that there will be an entirely musical episode coming up for the show.

As most fans of "Steven Universe" know, this often leads to a fusion. Sugar also hinted that fans will once again see the return of Connie and Steven's fused version called "Stevonnie" and they will get a solo song in the upcoming episode.

"You know who is an incredible singer who I just wrote a song for, is AJ who plays Stevonnie," said Sugar.

"Steven Universe" Season 3 may also see Peridot's first fusion. According to the publication, Sugar explained that Peridot will do a tap dance in the said episode of the show.

Apart from Stevonnie and Peridot's first fusion, "Steven Universe" Season 3 may also see the return of Opal (Aimee Mann), Sugilite (Nicki Minaj) or Yellow Diamond (Patti Lupone). Sugar hinted that one of these musicians will be returning for the musical episode.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Times reports on an exclusive sneak peek to the upcoming "Steven Universe" Season 3 event. The clip is titled "To the Depths," which showed Steven and Peridot preparing to drill their way to the center of the Earth to stop the Cluster from destroying the planet.

"Steven Universe" Season 3 premieres on Thursday, May 12 on Cartoon Network.
