Dos And Don'ts For Men With Male Pattern Baldness

A lot of men share a common problem of male pattern baldness. Baldness is one cause why men lose self-esteem and self-confidence. Those men who ha ave family history of male pattern baldness consider this condition inevitable so they take extra care pf their hair and scalp.

There are a lot of causes why men lose hair when they get older. Though the exact cause of this condition is not yet fully understood according to MayoClinic, several studies suggested and theorized that it is a side effect of men hormonal changes, genetic, medications and underlying medical conditions.

A lot of research are done every year on how to improve the health of scalp and hair. Many products with promising effects are advertised over media and print ads but men still can't find the ultimate solution to this problem.

They say prevention is always better than cure. Here are some "Dos and Don'ts" for men who are starting to witness their hairlines receding:

1. Reduce Stress.

Though this cause of hair loss is still debatable, WebMD pointed out that stress speeds up aging and raises stress hormones which likely to cause hair loss.

2. Eat Healthy Foods.

Healthy diet makes a healthy and strong hair. Eating veggies, fruits and foods rich in vitamins can promote healthy scalp and hair.

3. Keep Your Hair Short.

If you are part of the men with their crowning glory thinning and almost showing what's beneath, it's advisable to just go bald purposely by shaving your hair. Hair is really optional for men and some women prefers a guy with a shaved head.

4. Don't Dry Your Hair By Rubbing A Towel.

Excessive rubbing can destroy hair follicles. When follicles starts to heal, it scars and closes totally not allowing any hair growth. Just tap or rub the towel gently onto your hair.

5. Don't Use Hair Styling Products Excessively.

A lot of men use gels and hair pastes to style their hair but less they know that these products can cause baldness in long term use. Dried gels and hair pastes causes flaky scalps. Itchiness will then follow and when scalp is damage, it affects hair growth.

6.  Don't Cover Up Your Receding Hair Lines With A Hat Or Cap.

Wearing these to cover up hair loss will only make it worse. Tight caps and hats that are in direct contact with your hair pushes it down to your scalp. This causes hair stress and can lead to hair loss.
