'Uncharted 4' Release: Game Has Trophy For Faulty E3 Demo Last Year, Developer Gives Gamers Tons Of Surprises

With the recent release of "Uncharted 4," gamers were treated to some surprises that they did not see coming. One of these is reliving the Madagascar scene where Nathan Drake just stopped because of an error.

Surprise, Surprise

Kotaku reported that a controller glitch frustrated hundreds of thousands of "Uncharted" gamers who watched the character just stand in a scene which nobody finished because of the error. Now, players are given the chance to again see the character freeze for a few seconds.

Dubbed "Stage Freight," this game trophy requires a player to just stand for about 30 seconds just like what happened in the E3 demo last year. Games Radar noted that when the glitch happened, "Uncharted 4" developer Naughty Dog had to come up with a backup before the game could proceed.

Funny Take

"It's nice to see Naughty Dog take such an embarrassing moment in stride and have some fun with it - a positive attitude from them means a positively funny moment for fans," observed Games Radar. It noted that the standstill moment was also a worthy addition to "Uncharted 4."

Released on Tuesday, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" has received positive reviews for the wonderful offerings to players. IGN highlighted that the choreography of the game was also well done as well as its "frantic combat and slick parkour."

The 15-hour gaming experience in "Uncharted 4" allows users to play various characters in different time periods. The game's main characters Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher are already trying to seek a normal life until they received an "irresistible" offer from the former's brother.

Bigger Gaming Environment

PC Mag said that aside from the exciting storyline, "Uncharted" is also praised because it gives gamers a "bigger world to explore." It was noted that a linear experience will provide players an environment which is close to an open-world game.

The broad linear levels give players access to alternate routes and other paths they can take in the game. Every level is expected to give players experiences they will surely enjoy during the game.
