‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 9 Spoilers, News & Update: Leonard’s Father And Sheldon’s Mom Could End Up Together In Finale, Sheldon And Amy Might Get Engaged In Season 10!

As "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 nears its momentary end with the finale, it will leave its viewers a possibility that Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) will end up as step-brothers. Sheldon's mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), will meet Leonard's recently divorced parents, his father Alfred (Judd Hirsch) and mom Beverly (Christine Baranski).

According to Entertainment Weekly, there is a surprising turn of events as Alfred and Mary might wind up liking each other. "An unexpected attraction springs up between Sheldon's father and Leonard's mother," said "The Big Bang Theory" executive producer, Steve Molaro.

Beverly and Alfred have a love-and-hate relationship and it will be evidently seen that Alfred is an attractive man. "There [is] a shared dislike of Beverly and a genuine fondness of each other," Steve Molaro added.

Hence, if Sheldon's mother and Leonard's father develop an affair and eventually get married, the two scientists will end up being step-brothers. To recall, in the penultimate episode, Beverly complained that she is not invited to the shotgun wedding of her son, Leonard, and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in Las Vegas.

Penny, then, considered it will be the right time to get married again with a not so formal wedding rite and to invite some of their families and friends. This will be the time that Leonard's father, Alfred, will be introduced to the world.

Steve Molaro, too, believed that Judd Hirsch is the perfect fit to play as Leonard's father, Alfred, Cinema Blend reported. However, a tension will ignite between Alfred and his former wife, Beverly that might ruin Penny and Leonard's renewal of vows.

Meanwhile, Glamour cited that "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 might see Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) get engaged or only to live together. Steve Molaro cleared that there are no plans yet for the two stars' relationship to jump to the next level.

Steve Molaro added that Sheldon and Amy are in "great place" and if ever things go right for them, it will eventually happen. He just promised that they will do their all to make the upcoming "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 "as great as it can be."
