‘ARK: Survival Evolved’ Latest News & Updates: 3 Interesting Things Fans Should Know About Studio Wildcard’s Dino Game

Last month, Studio Wildcard announced that "ARK: Survival Evolved" has been delayed for 2016 holiday season instead of its initial June 2016 release date. According to Studio Wildcard cofounder Jesse Rapczak, the developers decided to delay "ARK: Survival Evolved" release date due to the game's additional features and content that were reportedly taking a lot of hard work.

"We never anticipated adding modding, local multiplayer, split screen, or numerous other upcoming features," Rapczak explained. "The game at launch will be far more robust than originally conceived, but it takes a little extra time to wrap it all up."

Fortunately, Rapczak's statement squashed initial fears regarding "ARK: Survival Evolved" rumored cancellation due to a Trendy Entertainment lawsuit, which has been settled for $40 million. So, as Studio Wildcard vowed to add more exciting features and content, here are 3 interesting things that fans should know about the upcoming "ARK: Survival Evolved."

1. 'ARK: Survival Evolved' Latest Creature

The next big creature to be unveiled for "ARK: Survival Evolved" multiplayer survival adventure is an exploding cat known as Purlovia. "ARK: Survival Evolved" newest inhabitant is a savage and carnivorous prehistoric cat-beast that hibernates beneath the jungle floor.

Unfortunately, "ARK: Survival Evolved" Purlovia will refuse to hibernate when it senses any threat nearby. It can also surprisingly burst from the ground to tear up a victim that wanders around with its large canines before it can even react.

2. 'ARK: Survival Evolved' Upcoming Biome Expansions

In addition to Purlovia, latest "ARK: Survival Evolved" reports also offered a glimpse into its upcoming biome expansions. Fans and gamers will see the island's northwestern snow biome extending eastward along the northern coast, as well as the arrival of a new redwood forest area.

As a result of the major landmass adjustments required as part of "ARK: Survival Evolved" biome update, Studio Wildcard has warned players, who have bases in the affected areas to pack up their things and move further beyond.

3. Best 'ARK: Survival Evolved' Mods

"ARK: Survival Evolved" offers an extensive range of mods that can allow players to change any aspect of game, including the amount of time to tame a dino or to the map itself. "ARK: Survival Evolved" mods include: the "Advanced Architecture," "The Center," "ARK Pirate World" and "Giant Megalodons."

Speaking of "ARK: Survival Evolved" custom mod "The Center," which was created by Ben Burkart aka Evil Mr. Frank, the official release for its map is currently slated on Xbox One on May 16 through the 734.0 update. On PC platforms, on the other hand, no exact release date has been announced but the map is expected to arrive after the release of "ARK: Survival Evolved" patch 241.0.

"ARK: Survival Evolved The Center" mod will not only provide a new and exquisite land to explore. It will also provide several interesting places including the floating island, an extensive cave system, a Mordor-like island with twin volcanos and a whole lot more.

Meanwhile, "ARK: Survival Evolved" will also receive the "Primitive+" mod later this summer. For a breakdown of what's in store in "The Center" release, click here.
