In order to understand each other, Hunterton asked Meri and Janelle to reverse roles in "Sister Wives" season 7 episode 2. During the session, Janelle and Meri shared how they think the other person feels about them.

For 47-year-old Janelle, she believes Meri thinks she "shuts down" whenever they speak. Meri, on the other hand, agrees, saying she feels her "wall goes right up" whenever Janelle shuts down.

"When I want to talk about something and you just shut down, I just think that you're not interested in what I have to say or you're not paying attention to me, because you just sit there and you just blow me off," Janelle said. "I really want to work this out, I really want to talk about these things but you're not even talking, you're not even willing to address it. You check out."
