Red Hot Chili Peppers Performance Canceled: Anthony Kiedis Hospitalized

Red Hot Chili Peppers was constrained to cancel their performance at the KROQ's annual Weenie Roast in Irvine Meadows Amphitheater on Saturday. Unfortunately, the band's frontman, Anthony Kiedis, was rushed to the nearest hospital because of a severe stomachache.

"We live to rock, we live to f****** dig deep into the depths of our hearts and rock," Flea, Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, told the concertgoers. The rest of the group came onstage after Anthony Kiedis was sent to the hospital, according to Rolling Stone.

Sadly, Flea, together with Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer informed the crowd that they were not going to perform their set headline. "But unfortunately, there's a medical thing that happened and we needed to deal with it, so we're unable tonight," Flea continued.

He later announced that they will play for them in a different time like the "feral animals" that they were and apologized for what happened. Anthony Kiedis was ready to perform at the Meadows Amphitheatre when he started to feel acute stomach pain, a KROQ representative told Billboard.

At about 10:30 p.m. that night, KROQ pronounced that Red Hot Chili Peppers was compelled to call off their act because of an unexpected sickness on their official Twitter page. KROQ also added that they will announce more information about the incident for the awaiting crowd.

Moreover, Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer, Chad Smith, also tweeted that they, too, felt disappointed for the mishap. He shared on his Twitter account that no one was more disheartened than their band that they couldn't execute their set headline, as per E! News.

However, Chad Smith only wished Anthony Kiedis a quick recuperation and sent him his love. Red Hot Chili Peppers was also set to perform in Burbank, CA on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Weezer performed to close the KROQ event while other bands, like Panic! at the Disco, Empire of the Sun, Garbage, Lumineers, Fitz and the Tantrums and Mike Snow were present to rock the crowd. Blink 182, too, surprised everyone with their performance.
