Johnny Depp engaged to girlfriend Amber Heard

Johnny Depp is reportedly engaged to his girlfriend Amber Heard. The sparkling "chick's ring" Depp was spotted wearing and sly comments indirectly confirms the rumors.

"The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle," the 50-year-old actor told The Associated Press.

The engagement ring Depp gave Heard, 27, was "too big for her, so he started wearing it," a source explained to Us Weekly.

Depp reportedly proposed back in mid-January to his "Rum Diaries" costar Heard after about a year and a half of dating.

"The proposal happened a while ago," one insider told Us. "She just didn't wear the ring."

Depp also coyly avoided questions about wedding plans.

"I think that I would be better at making women's shoes than I would be at wedding planning, I can't plan anything," the "Lone Ranger" star said. "I'm really bad at that stuff."

The future Mr. and Mrs. Depp celebrated their impending nuptials at an engagement party held inside The Carondelet House in L.A. March 14. Celebrity friends like Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler and Mandy Moore were in attendance.

This will be Heard's first marriage and Depp's second - he was married to Lori Anne Allison for two brief years in the mid-80s. In June 2012, Depp split with French actress/singer Vanessa Paradis after their 14-year relationship. They share kids Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 11. Although Depp has only been married once, he has been engaged several times, to Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder, who inspired him to get a tattoo that read "Winona Forever."

Heard, who starred alongside Kevin Costner in "3 Days to Kill" earlier this year, has publicly identified herself as bisexual and was previously attached to photographer Tasya van Ree.

Depp was in Beijing promoting his new movie "Transcendence," coming to theaters April 18.
