As for the plot of "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7, there have been rumors claiming the writer of the series will reportedly create a new but not too dramatic material for Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander's crime-busting tandem, CarterMatt hints. In addition, Alexander also said she's hoping the upcoming season will show them more as women, not just a badass detective or medical examiner.

"I hope that in Season 7, we will explore these women in terms of where they've come, what they've gone through, and where they are at in this moment in their lives, and what I mean is their personal life, the choices that they've made, what their jobs have kept them from doing, or what it has given them," Alexander told Parade.

There were also reports of happy endings in Jane and Maura's personal and professional lives, Design & Trend reveals. In fact, there were reports hinting the possibilities of romance and promotion for Jane and Maura.

'Rizzoli & Isles' Season 7 Guest Star

"Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 is definitely getting more interesting with the addition of a guest star. According to TVLine, "Odd Couple" actress Yvette Nicole Brown will be making an appearance in the series.

Brown will reportedly portray the role of a "brash and blustery" U.S. Postal Inspector, CJ Prescott. Brown's character in "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 is someone who possesses an over-the-top passion for her job and she has been scheduled to appear in one episode.

Angie Harmon's Directorial Debut In 'Rizzoli & Isles' Season 7

Angie Harmon, the actress who plays the role of Det. Jane Rizzoli in "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7, will reportedly to direct the series' 100^th episode, as per Variety. Unfortunately, the storyline details for the 100th episode have not been disclosed but the episode she'll be directing is scheduled to begin filming this month.

"I have always wanted to direct an episode of 'Rizzoli & Isles,' but the timing has never worked out because of my shooting schedule," Harmon said. "I'm in almost every scene so it was always difficult to prep an episode before and then scout and plan shots for the episode I would direct."
