Newborn Survives Car Crash: Born Through Emergency C-Section From Lifeless Body Of Mother

Deemed as a miracle baby, this newborn survived a car crash that took the life of his mother and badly injured her father. She was born via an emergency C-section, done on the already lifeless body of her mother.

Mother Died In Car Accident

Sarah Iler, 26, and Matt Rider, 34, were on their way to a Missouri hospital to give birth to their baby when the accident happened. Yahoo reported that a tanker truck hit a Nissan SUV, and the said SUV then hit the car that Iler and Rider were on.

Due to the impact, the Chevrolet Blazer the couple was riding overturned and the couple was thrown from the car. Although emergency responders didn't waste time to reach them and bring them to the hospital, Iler died at the scene.

Emergency Cesarean Operation

The couple was taken to the Saint Francis Medical Center where doctors delivered the 4-pound 15-ounces baby via an emergency C-section. Iler, at the time of the operation, was already dead, her body lifeless.

The newborn baby, Maddyson, was in critical condition, reported Inside Edition. Baby Maddyson was placed on a ventilator, but it didn't take long for the feisty little fighter to breathe on her own.

One relative posted on a GoFundMe page that Maddyson was making small improvements. She was also reported to have held a finger of a nurse. The page was created to help the funeral cost of Iler.

A Little Fighter

Relatives are hoping for the best for Maddyson. An alarming report given by the doctor was that it is still undetermined whether the little baby will suffer from brain damage. On the other hand, Rider, who suffered from four broken limbs, was already transferred to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and had undergone a series of surgeries.

Since Rider has not fully recovered yet, relatives of Maddyson are in a dilemma as to who will take care of the baby. Rider has talked to Maddyson over the phone and he can't wait to see her. Relatives of Iler remember her as the best sister and that they believe she gave her life to save Maddyson.
