'Sherlock Holmes 3' News & Update: Production Starts This Fall; May Yield More Sequels

Since "Sherlock Holmes 3" was confirmed, the hype about the upcoming film continues to grow. Fans of the most popular detective are excited to witness his next adventures. Well, according to reports, "Sherlock Holmes 3" will have an end of year production.

'Sherlock Holmes 3' Production Starts Later This Year

Parent Herald previously reported that "Sherlock Holmes 3" might start filming this year. "We're talking about it right now. Now. I can't wait. ... We can do some preliminary stuff. ... I know Guy Ritchie loves me as much as I love him - and he damn well should," lead star Robert Downey Jr. said per Cross Map.

According to the Indian Express, "Sherlock Holmes 3" producer Joel Silver confirms that they will begin production later this year. The "Iron Man" star will be busy with another "Avengers" film so they have to do it earlier.

"It looks like it could happen this fall. Downey said he wants to do it. He's gotta launch into another 'Avengers' movie right after the new year. So we're trying to get it done," Silver said.

'Sherlock Holmes' Will Have More Sequels

For those who love detective Sherlock Holmes so much, there are chances that you will see more of him in the next years. According to Den of Geek, Silver teases that the film series may go beyond "Sherlock Holmes 3."

"I don't think so. How many Bond films have they made? As long as there's a character, we can work with it. It's not an end story," Silver said when asked if "Sherlock Holmes 3" will be the detective's final appearance on the big screens.

Can Robert Downey Jr Still Do More?

Robert Downey Jr is a versatile actor and he is best at his craft. In fact, he personalized "Iron Man" that fans can no longer think of any other actor playing the self-proclaimed genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist superhero.
