'Bones' Season 12 News & Update: TV Series Replaced By 'Pitch'; New Season Pushed Back To Premiere On 2017

"Bones" will soon be bidding goodbye in the small screens because season 12 will be its last. However, the goodbye is not happening anytime soon because "Bones" Season 12 is pushed back to next year and a new TV series; "Pitch" will replace it.

'Pitch' Replaces 'Bones' Season 12 On Its Time Slot

According to Carter Matt, Fox has decided to push back the finale season of "Bones" in 2017. Initially, "Bones" Season 12 was slated to return in the fall, but Fox made changes and decided to move "Pitch" to Thursday nights at 9 p.m. replacing "Bones" in its original time slot in the process.

Per MStars News, "Bones" Season 12 will be airing 12 episodes and is expected in Winter 2017. Its timeslot is still to be determined, but the publication assumed that Fox would air the 12 episodes in 12 weeks.

Getting To Know 'Pitch'

According to reports, the "Bones" season 12 replacement, "Pitch" is about the story of a woman who becomes the first woman to pitch for an MLB franchise. She prepared all her life for the said moment and perfected a screwball pitch to compete with players who are physically stronger than her. "Pitch" comes with a unique concept and it is interesting how it will translate into a TV series.

What To Expect In 'Bones' Season 12

Meanwhile, back to "Bones" Season 12 according to Enstarz, "Bones" showrunner Michael Peterson teases that he will bring many guests in the final season. Fans can expect Cindy and Betty to return in "Bones" Season 12.

"We want this to be a grand ride off into the sunset for the final 12 episodes for next season. We will bring back as many guest cast as humanly possible and whoever is available," Peterson said. "We'd love to get Cyndi [Lauper] back. We don't have Betty [White] for the second half of this season, but we'd love to have her come back. Next season, we have one episode in particular that we would love to have her back for. We are leaving it wide open."
