‘Overwatch’ Overused Heroes and 'Overwatch' Porn: What is Blizzard Doing?

"Overwatch" popularity is getting bigger every minute. And with the fan based that it has now built, it is also gaining a lot of attraction towards "Overwatch" porn and issues regarding players noticing that there are more heroes being played than others.

What is "Overwatch" porn?

Even with the start of "Overwatch" beta, Venture Beat reported that a jump of 817 percent went to the searches for "Overwatch" porn from Pornhub. Blizzard is not responsible for such creations and it is clear that the porn creators are ripping all the benefits.

In a Reddit post by a porn creator, it announced that Blizzard is taking down "Overwatch" porn and that users should stop Blizzard from doing so. "If you enjoy this type of content or any other Blizzard related content then people need to tell Blizzard to stop policing the web," the post read.

While Blizzard has not since reacted towards the massive usage of Tracer as the most searched character for "Overwatch" porn, still reports have also claimed the Blizzard is taking steps to protect its characters. PC Games reported that Blizzard may have possible hired Irdeto to clean the huge collection of "Overwatch" porn.

Overused Players in "Overwatch"

While there are still plenty of issues regarding "Overwatch" porn, real players on the other hand, noticed that the game itself, may allow users to have favorite characters thus some "Overwatch" characters may just be ignored.

"Overwatch" features 21 heroes with ten men, eight women, two robots and a genetically engineered gorilla. During the "Overwatch" beta, which was played by 9.7 million players, the most popular character was Widowmaker, Soldier:76 and Pharah.


Blizzard provided an assorted cast from different demographics although the game makers didn't plan on whose character will be more popular than most. The character Mei, however, was created by Chinese gamers 'as Blizzard will also be releasing Overwatch in China.

This is the first time that Blizzard released its new franchise as the company was also responsible for the successful "Warcraft" and "Starcraft."

With "Overwatch" picking up its momentum with fans having their own favorites, to "Overwatch" porns' popularity, it is also in a way for Blizzard entertainment to mark its third successful franchise and maybe in a couple of years, it might even follow "Warcraft" and may even have a successful movie. Who knows?
