Kirsten Storms Leaves ‘General Hospital’ Due To Skin Issue? Days’ Molly Burnett Steps In

ABC's daytime soap opera "General Hospital" is having another face temporarily replaced. Daytime Confidential on weekend reported that Molly Burnett is officially filling in for Kirsten Storms.

Kirsten Storms Has Stress-Related Skin Issues

Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie Jones in GH, personally announced on her Twitter page the reason that led her to take a leave of absence from the show. "I am taking a little break from work due to some skin issues I've been having," she wrote. "My dr's say my breakouts are due to stress, but shouldn't take too long to get under control."

The 32-year-old actress assured fans that she's doing well managing the breakouts, although it is still difficult for GH to cover them up. She added, "In the meantime, I look forward to seeing Molly on screen as I take few weeks to heal. Again - thank you for the love and you will see me again in no time!"

"Days of Our Lives" actress Molly Burnett has been tapped to take Kirsten's role as Nathan West's (Ryan Peavey) fiancé. Her takeover of the role comes as "General Hospital" casts "One Life to Live" alum Bree Williamson as Nathan's ex-wife, and Bradford Anderson has been confirmed to be returning to the show as Damian Spinelli. GH has also recast Tyler Christopher's character, with Nick Stabile stepping in temporarily as Nikolas Cassadine.

The 28-year-old actress is known for her roles in "Parking" (2014), "This is Normal" (2013) and "Ladies' Man: A Made Movie" (2013). She also appeared in "CSI: Cyber" from 2015 to 2016 and "True Blood" from 2009 to 2014.
