'Sherlock Season 4' Release Date, News & Update: Romance In The Cards For Benedict Cumberbatch's Holmes? Cardiff Shoot Completed For S4

Benedict Cumberbatch and "Sherlock Season 4" cast and crew were seen hard at work in Cardiff for new episodes of Holmes' adventures. News surfaced that Benedict Cumberbatch may actually see Holmes find romance in "Sherlock Season 4."

Benedict Cumberbatch Dazed By 'Sherlock Season 4'  

According to Wales Online, "Sherlock Season 4" seems to be taking Holmes through more challenging puzzles as a dazed Benedict Cumberbatch was caught on camera. "Sherlock Season 4" reportedly relied on Cardiff University Student's Union and Cyncoed in Wales for numerous scenes.

The media outlet reports that one of the "Sherlock Season 4" scenes shot in Cardiff Bay seemed to show Holmes walking slowly seemingly resolutely blocking out information he was unwilling to know. The curious "Sherlock Season 4" scene showed Benedict Cumberbatch in Holmes' regular get up looking at an unidentified male in cream colored clothes.

'Sherlock Season 4' Is A Climax 

Wales Online cites Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat in describing "Sherlock Season 4". According to Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, the underlying arc of the previous episodes will come to a climax in "Sherlock Season 4".

"Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake," Gatiss and Moffat promised. "This is the story we've been telling from the beginning."

Benedict Cumberbatch Given A Romantic Pair Up For Holmes In  'Sherlock Season 4?'  

Given that John Watson is about to have a baby with wife Mary, is the romance in "Sherlock Season 4" finally Holmes' own? The last time Holmes was given a love interest in "Sherlock" was in Season 2 in "A Scandal In Belgravia" when Benedict Cumberbatch was pitted against Lara Pulver as Irene Adler.

Is Irene Adler one of the returning "ghosts" in "Sherlock Season 4"? If Benedict Cumberbatch will not be reunited with Lara Pulver, is a new romance going to develop fro Holmes in "Sherlock Season 4"?

One thing sure is how Toby Jones' character will not make life easy for Holmes and the Watsons in "Sherlock Season 4". A separate Parent Herald article reports that Toby Jones is playing one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic supervillains in "Sherlock Season 4".

BBC is scheduled to release "Sherlock Season 4" in 2017. Toby Jones and Benedict Cumberbatch will be joined by Martin Freeman as John Watson and Amanda Abbington as Mary in "Sherlock Season 4".
