Fans are very excited for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. There are reports that Elena and Damon will finally reunite in the new season. However, prior to that, the "The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev was spotted in a bikini and according to reports, she posted it to get Ian Somerhalder's attention.

Last Memorial Day weekend, Nina Dobrev took a break with her girl friends. The "The Vampire Diaries" alum posted a photo of her smashing a ball in the beach. She clearly had a good game with her friends. Dobrev captioned it with "Set goals.... SMASH them #committosomething"

According to Yibada, some fans believed that Nina Dobrev posted her slim body on social media to get the attention of her ex-flame Ian Somerhalder. Although that is possible, posting photos in bikini aren't new to celebrities. Aside from the photo in a bikini, Nina Dobrev also shared several shots of her trip to the zoo. She took a selfie with a zebra and a giraffe. She captioned one of her photos with, "Forget French Kisses. It's all about Giraffe kisses. @malibusafaris"

Elena - Damon Reunion In 'The Vampire Diaries' Imminent

 There is no doubt that fans are looking forward to seeing Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) on the small screen together. "The Vampire Diaries" showrunner Julie Plec already revealed that she wants Nina Dobrev in the series again.

In fact, if the series will go longer she wants to bring her back earlier but either way, she wants Dobrev in the finale. "I'm sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end," Plec told TV Line.

While fans want Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder to share the screen in "The Vampire Diaries," someone hates it. Parent Herald reported that Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed is threatened with Dobrev's return in "TVD."
