The CW's "The Originals" is currently on hiatus. However, fans are drooling for its return. The last season ended with a huge twist with only Hayley and Marcel making it and the rest of the Mikaelsons in grave danger. What will happen to the Mikaelsons in "The Originals" Season 4?

Here are five things we know about "The Originals" Season 4 that you should know.

Hayley will be the Mikaelson's hero but someone will help her

According to  Latin Times, Hayley's goal in "The Originals" Season 4 is to save the Mikaelsons. She will cure Elijah, Kol, Freya and Rebekah. But, Hayley will not be alone in carrying out this mission. Parent Herald previously reported that her daughter with Klaus, baby Hope would help her save the Mikaelsons.

There will be a time jump in "The Originals" Season 4

At the time baby Hope is still too young and her power is not yet developed. However, there are theories that she will be helping her mom, Hayley save the Mikaelsons. So she needs to grow up fast. The time jump theory springs from this speculation. "The Originals" showrunner Narducci also confirmed the time jump.

"We are going to have a little bit of a time jump in between when the story ends at the end of the finale and when we pick up in Season 4," he said per Latin Times. "That experience in the time jump will be similar to what the audience is feeling. To me, in a way, it actually makes sense."

Marcel Not A Full Blown Villain In "The Originals" Season 4

Although Marcel is the new bad guy in "The Originals" Season 3, the character will not be the full-blown villain in "The Originals" Season 4. Per Blasting News, Marcel is designed to be one of the protagonists and fans love him. So, it is unlikely for Marcel to be the big bad.

No Klaroline In "The Originals" Season 4

Klaroline is one of the most popular love teams in "The Originals" series. However, it is unlikely for Caroline (Candice King) and Klaus ( Joseph Morgan) to unite anytime soon. King, who is currently playing the character in "The Vampire Diaries" revealed that there is more hope for the Steroline fans to rejoice than the Klaroline. Although Klaus and Caroline look good together, the two characters never had an official relationship and King doubts if things will work out for the two characters.

Release Date

Per the report, "The Originals" Season 4 will not return to the small screens in fall 2016. The CW decided to air the new season during the winter hiatus to strengthen the programming during that time. Thus, "The Originals" Season 4 will likely air in January 2017.
