'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Release Date, News & Update: Ian Somerhalder Will Remain Enslaved By Nameless Evil? Kat Graham Wishes To Be Something Else?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will give more to anticipate besides the reunion between Ian Somerhalder, as Damon Salvatore, and Nina Dobrev. Executive producer Julie Plec teased that Damon Salvatore may remain enslaved by that Nameless Evil in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, while Kat Graham revealed that she actually wishes Bonnie Bennett is something else.

The uncomfortable triangle of Stefan (played by Paul Wesley) Caroline Forbes (played by Candice King) and Alaric Saltzman (played by Matthew Davis) will be the main source of hope for Damon in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. However, TV Guide reports that Julie Plec explained how the Nameless Evil in the vault may continue its hold over Damon in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

In other words, the events in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 may deliver the unhappy possibility that Damon Salvatore will never more be fully restored. In an interview with TVLine, Julie Plec says that Bonnie Bennett will likely spend a good part of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 recovering from her losses in S7.

As "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will continue to explore, Bonnie Bennett practically had her world turned upside down in S7, losing Enzo, Damon and her magical powers. Fox News Magazine reports, however, that Kat Graham may be getting exactly what she wants for Bonnie Bennett in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

Speaking of powers, Kat Graham revealed that she's not as impressed with Bonnie Bennett's supernatural abilities. As Kat Graham would finally be able to experience in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, Bonnie Bennett will have to find a way to save Damon and Enzo and fight the Nameless Evil in the vault without magical powers to back her up.

"I mean, we all have something different within us that makes us powerful, and I don't think it's external," Kat Graham said. "I believe we as human beings have much more power than we give ourselves credit for."

Hopefully, "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will see Bonnie Bennett find that same strength that Kat Graham has so much faith in. Premiere and viewing schedules for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 on The CW are yet to be announced.
