Summer Is The Cause Of Anxiety To Parents, Need Some Help? Here's What To Do

Summer is supposed to be fun for the whole family but nowadays it seemed that the season is the cause of major anxiety to parents of kids. Reason being is that some parents who work and try to make ends meet, will not know where to send their kids while they're busy working.

According to The Stir, there are different scenarios the parents play during the summer. Some parents have photos of their kids posted on social media where children ran off and play in the neighborhoods, eating Popsicles and playing with the sprinklers. While others plan out a vacation somewhere with their family. Out on a camp in a cabin, somewhere in the wilderness, on on the beach. They plan out a vacation.

Although the ones mentioned above are lovely thoughts about the summer season, the reality is very far from those. Thoughts of carefree days with the kids giving that coveted summer of their lives? How could that be when many moms are busy? Especially that statistical reports about mothers, si that they work. According to New York Times, only a quarter of American household has one of the parents stay at home, because of poverty.

Both parents tend to work to make ends meet and the responsibilities of taking care of the younger children lies on the elder siblings. There are also kids who while their parents work, they are just staying at home, a generation that they term as the latchkey kid syndrome. Already used to mom and dads not being around.

This is what it's like in an American household nowadays, the reason why summer causes anxiety to parents more than it did back in the 70's. Yet, some things can be done.

For some parents who work from home, as that is already very possible now, they still can make arrangements with their schedule. Strictly follow a personal be off work, and try to be there for their children whether at afternoon swim or a dance lesson. This way at least families could say that no matter how financially hard this time is, Summer is going to be anxiety no more.
