'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 News & Update: Jaime And Brienne Are IN LOVE, Says Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Viewers of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 could not get over the moments that took place between Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth in the show's eighth episode "No One." The two characters, who shared a pivotal experience in the earlier seasons, were reunited in the latest offering, but it was kind of bittersweet.

As "Game of Thrones" prepares for war, Jaime and Brienne are caught in the middle of a tension knowing that will be fighting opposing sides. Their brief reunion highlights their real feeling for each other and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the actor who plays the ruthless Lannister villain, actually confirmed that yes, Jaimie and Brienne are in love.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said that his character and Gwendoline Christie's character have this strong connection, but they can't act on it. These feelings developed in "Game of Thrones" Season 3 and 4, when Jaime and Brienne were ambushed, held captives and got separated.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also talked with IGN and confirmed their characters' feelings for each other. He explained how the writers used subtexts and other means, such as putting furniture in between the characters in their scenes, to express these unrealized feelings. "They would never recognize the thing that there is between then," Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said. "They would never allow themselves to go to that place."
