Is One Direction Coming To An End? Harry Styles Officially Going Solo; Will Niall Horan Leave the Band Next?

Rumors about the much-loved boy band becoming history have been around. And with Harry Styles recent announcement, does it mean that One Direction is no more?

According to a report on IOL, Harry Styles is officially going solo with his first solo recording contract after a year when One Direction made it public that the band would go an indefinite hiatus.

Another news article on Hollywood Life reported that Niall Horan is next in line to leave the band. Is this really going to be the end of the internationally acclaimed boy band?

In March 2015, Zayn Malik left One Direction after deciding to lay low and be a normal 22-year-old. But, in the same month this year, Malik released a solo album, "Mind of Mine." Now, Harry Styles is officially the second member to leave the band as cited on Huffington Post.

In late 2015, rumors of Harry Styles going solo circulated following his four registered songs with American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Based on ASCAP list, Harry Styles has 40 registered songs, but are listed under One Direction as a performer. On the other hand, Style's four new songs-"Already Home," "Endlessly," "Coco" and "5378 Miles"-were under his name as the sole performer.

In March 2016, Harry Styles has joined Full Stop Management, which is headed by Jeffrey Azoff, ex- Creative Artists Agency executive. Azoff had Harry as a former client.

Although details Harry Styles' solo project remains unknown, one thing remains certain: One Direction fans across the globe are starting to feel separation anxiety. Harry Styles' decision of going solo is seen by fans as a sign that the boy band is eventually coming to an end, a heartbreaking sad news but true.

"I don't know if it's a hiatus or a breakup, to be honest. In a weird way, I don't want to know," he said. "I don't think they've had enough time to experience what it's like not being in the group to really answer that," Simon Cowell, One Direction's mentor, said in an interview. "Midnight Memories" might be all the fans have left of their much-loved One Direction.
