Leah Remini Reportedly Filming Show About Scientology And How Religion Ruins Families

Leah Rimini has been very controversial due to her statements against the church of Scientology and now reports have surfaced claiming that she is actually filming for a new show that would talk about the religion as well as its disconnection policy ruining family relationships.

The disconnection family of the church of Scientology is about cutting ties with family or friends who are antagonistic toward the organization. The show of Remini is reportedly currently in production but no official word from her has been given out.

Inquisitr reported that the former "King of Queens" star's reported new show was exposed by Tony Ortega, the writer who is an expert on the subject of Scientology and even appeared on Alex Gibney's blockbuster Scientology depiction entitled "Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief." The show aired last year on HBO.

It remains unclear what network will Remini's rumored show be in but it was reported that the same network will be airing a second series about the Church of Scientology.

46-year-old Remini has practiced Scientology for 30 years. She was brought to church by her mother at a young age. However, she quit the organization for good back in 2013. She also has penned a memoir called "Troublemaker" in which she talked about what the reason is behind her leaving the church. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey's "Where Are They Now" last year, Remini shared, "Our decision to leave the organization - it's not just something you get over. It's people and a lifestyle you've known all your life."

Remini also revealed on her book that former Scientologists lose their entire families when they walk away from the church. She is lucky that her mother, her sister, and her husband followed her lead of leaving the church. After leaving the church, she had her daughter Sofia baptized as a Catholic.

Other stars like John Travolta, Tom Cruise, and Kirstie Alley are still devout members of the Church of Scientology. Cruise has been highly criticized by many after it has been revealed that he has not seen his daughter Suri, with actress Katie Holmes, since his former wife and child have exited from the church.
