‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: All-New Characters Added To The Cast; Negan’s Victim Isn’t Who You Expect

Two all-new characters have been added to the seventh season of AMC's "The Walking Dead." The new characters, which are not from the comic book source material, bear close resemblance to characters we have already seen in the show before -- Carol and Beth.

Another Carol And Beth?

The characters, which were revealed by TV Line's Michael Ausiello, will be introduced in the sixth episode of the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead." First is a character named Naomi, described as "a grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury anymore." This sounds exactly like Carol (Melissa McBride).

The other new character is Jennie, a "sunny-side-up kinda teenager" who is "kind, with a world-weary toughness," the news outlet further reported. We have met her type before in Beth (Emily Kinney), who died in "The Walking Dead" Season 5.

According to io9, it seems unlikely that "The Walking Dead" will feature two older women who have been turned into killers by their gruesome experiences. But the show could showcase Naomi as Carol's darker version, or she could serve as Carol's replacement if the latter ever meets her doom in Season 7.

Negan's Kill

"The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale episode titled "Last Day on Earth" ended in probably one of the show's most brutal cliffhangers since it aired. Fans were outrageous over who was the receiving end of Lucille, Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) deadly baseball bat.

Since then, viewers have been airing out their speculations about who Negan killed. Greg Nicotero, the executive producer of "The Walking Dead" Season 7, said there's a huge chance that Negan's kill in the show will be different than in the comics. Glenn was the one who died in that same scene in the comics.

According to Nicotero, the show will "pay tribute" to some of the comic books' "iconic moments," but they won't tell it in the exact same way, Cleveland reported. The news outlet also speculated that since the show already has one baby named Judith, it's highly likely that Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) baby boy in the comics will not make it into the series, with Maggie losing the child.

In an interview with IGN, Nicotero said "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will introduce the characters to "new worlds." He added that Negan's kill will "propel" and affect Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group "profoundly," and will change everyone's direction.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will return to AMC in October. A trailer will be revealed at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con in mid-July.
