'Pokemon Go' News & Update: Testers Share Feedback; Game Is Fun And Frustrating At The Same Time

One of the most awaited games to date is "Pokemon Go." The new title from the Pokemon Company is expected to be a breakthrough. The beta testing for "Pokemon Go" has started a few months ago and observations from testers have leaked. There are reports claiming that "Pokemon Go" is a disappointment and fun at the same time.

Feedbacks From 'Pokemon Go' Testing

Parent Herald previously reported that "Pokemon Go" testing has started in the U.S. Prior to this, gamers from Australia and New Zealand enjoyed the privilege. However, it seemed that there were too many expectations from the title that it many were unimpressed after testing.

Allegra Frank of Polygon felt that the original Pokemon games were more challenging than "Pokemon Go." The first games required strategy and techniques in beating a Pokemon, so you can capture them. However, in "Pokemon Go," the gameplay is very simple. Players just have to throw Poke Balls at the Pokemon they saw by swiping across their smartphone screens and hope that it will be caught when they throw the balls Since it does not require strategy, it reduces fun.

Meanwhile, video producer Nick Robinson is more inclined with "Pokemon Go." "I like it more than you do, but yeah, this is a tough one," Nick said. He further explained that the upcoming title fulfilled some gamers' fantasy that "Pokemon are real."

In addition, Nick Statt of the Verge is not very much impressed with "Pokemon Go's" augmented reality technology. He feels that the Pokemon are just floating and are not actually placed on top or behind the object.

Some Testers Are Happy With 'Pokemon Go'

Some testers feel that "Pokemon Go" is fun despite its flaws. For Jose Otero of IGN, the process of collecting Pokemon in "Pokemon Go" is just as addicting as the other games in the franchise. It is also an efficient and fun way to keep yourself active outdoors while you look for Pokemon to grow your collection.

"It's really fun seeing Pokemon in real-life environments," said Andrew Goldfarb, who also agrees that the augmented reality in "Pokemon Go" is charming and more of exploration. He wonders how this gameplay will work for kids, especially that it is initially designed for kids.
