'Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8' Story Connected To 'Kingdom Hearts 3'

"Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura announced the connection of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" to "KH3" to Famitsu via Gematsu. Per Nomura, they used Unreal Engine 4 in the upcoming titles and teased that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will have a similar theme to "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue." Both titles will feature free-running to high places and figuring out the map will be necessary.

He also explained that "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 - A Fragmentary Passage" is not a scrapped content from "Kingdom Hearts 3" but a backstory of the anticipated title that he decided to remove to "KH3" so it won't slow down the game's pace of storytelling.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will have a short prelude before the game starts. This introduction will surely be helpful to those who want to play the game, but are not familiar with the first two games.
