'Pokemon Go' Warning! Injuries Reported to Happen While Playing 'Pokemon Go'

It seems as though every game the Pokemon Company releases centered around its loveable creatures turns out to be a smash hit and the recently released "Pokemon Go" is no exception. This mobile game makes use of augmented reality technology to put the fictional Pokemon in to real-life settings.

Just days after "Pokemon Go" release, so many people have downloaded it that it became the top grossing application in the iPhone app store. However, its popularity may slow down after a number of injuries that have occurred because of it.

'Pokemon Go' Becoming Dangerous?

The first of these "Pokemon Go" incidents, while not physically harming the player, did prove as a source of much trauma. This is because a 19-year old girl from Wyoming recently discovered a dead body whilst she was "hunting" for Pokemon according to Fox News.

There are also people who have placed themselves in perilous situations all for the sake of "catching 'em all." In fact, some people are even playing "Pokemon Go" while driving in order to catch a Pokemon.

"Pokemon Go put me in the ER last night," said one reddit user on the official "Pokemon Go" subreddit. "Not even 30 minutes after the release last night, I slipped and fell down a ditch," said the Reddit user. "Fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in my foot, 6-8 weeks for recovery. I told all the doctors I was walking my dog lol... Watch where you're going, folks!" the user adds.

Other users on the subreddit have also posted about near misses and other injuries that they have gotten whilst playing the highly addictive game "Pokemon Go." A medical school in Arizona even sent out e-mails regarding the game telling people to "capture carefully," after reporting that their school has, figuratively of course, been invaded by Pokemon, says the Chicago Tribune. We must all remember to be aware of our surroundings first when playing "Pokemon Go."
