Jordan Release Date 2015: Air Jordan 20 'Laser' Photo & Price

The Air Jordan 20 is set to return as it marks Jordan Brand's 30th anniversary. According to Nike.com, the shoe will be part of the "Laser" pack which includes the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 4. The 3-shoe pack pays homage to the original Jordan 20's laser-edged design that was released over a decade ago, as well as celebrating Jordan's memories as the brand marks its 30th year in the business. 

The retro sneakers will be released on February 16, 2015 for $250, reports Sneaker Bar Detroit. The shoe will be available in select retail stores like Rock City Kicks, states Sneaker News.  

The newly made Air Jordan XX has a futuristic feel, while maintaining its historic look. It features a laser aesthetic and laser-etched lace covers, describes Nike. Another report by Sneaker News adds that the shoe has metallic accents and a white base with blue out-soles.  

The official colors of the shoe are white and reflect silver, according to Sneaker Bar Detroit. However, Sneaker News believes that the sneakers will come in more colors later in the year. 

Three jumpman logos can be seen on the shoe. One appears at the mid-strap of the shoe, another at the tip of the tongue, and lastly, at the back of the shoe just near the ankle. The word, "Jordan," can be seen at the ankle strap of the sneakers as well. 

The inspiration of the shoe are memories, stories, and achievements of Jordan, which he told Tinker Hatfield, a nike designer. Hatfield and fellow Nike designer, Mark Smith were inspired by Jordan's tales and came out with the Jordan XX. Symbols of the stories Jordan told Hatfield were etched over the sneakers, reports Nike.  

The original Jordan 20 raised the levels of performance and style for the Jordan Brand. In particular, the shoes independent podular suspension helped increase its playability level. While, its graphic laser design and ankle strap offered a new look, since it was the first Jordan performance footwear to have one.  

According to YouTube channel Featured Footwear, the sneakers were supposed to be a special perk sold only to celebrities and athletes. The Jordan Brand seems to have had a change of heart, however, as the shoe will now be sold to the general public. 

The new Air Jordan 20 - along with the other sneakers in the laser pack - are a tribute to the original version of the shoe, last released in 2005, says Kick On Fire. The release of the sneakers has many Jordan Brand fans excited.  

The shoes classic pearl and laser design also signifies the Jordan Brand's 30th anniversary, says Nike. The brand will be celebrating its anniversary in New York City at its 166 Flatbrush retail pop-up shop, reports Sneaker Bar Detroit.
