There has been excitement over some of the dinosaurs that will appear in the movie, especially the Indominus Rex. For those who really want to know more about the dinosaurs that will be appearing in "Jurassic World," here is a list compiled from Jurassic World.com.

  1. Ankylosaurus - According to the site, this dino has medium aggression. Its name means "Fused lizard." The natural habitat for this dinosaur is in Western North America. It is about 8-11 m. long and weighs 6,000 kg. This particular dino is a herbivore, which specifically eats ferns and low-growing vegetation. Paleontologists call it the "living tank" for its spiky body armor, which covers its entire body from skull to tail.
  2. Apatosaurus - This dino has low aggression. Its name means "Deceptive lizard," and usually lives in Western North America. It can weigh 20,000-36,000 kg. and is 23-28 m. long, making this particular dinosaur one of the largest to ever walk the Earth. Its diet consists of ferns and conifer branches.
  3. Gallimimus - It has low aggression and its name means "Chicken mimic." It used to live in Mongolia. This dinosaur only weighs 226 kg. and is 8m long. It is also a herbivore, with a diet of leaves and fruit. The Gallimimus is a distant cousin of the modern day ostrich and can run at up to 30mph.
  4. Mosasaurus - This animal has a high aggression level. Its name means "Meuse River lizard," and is found to live in the seas of Europe and North America. It was 18 m. in length and weighed 5,000 kg. The Mosasaurus is not an actual dinosaur, but really a sea lizard. It is a carnivore with two sets of teeth. The second set of teeth prevents its prey from escaping, while sliding down its throat. It is known to have fed on fish, birds, and even the great white shark.
  5. Stegosaurus - This dino has a low aggression level and its name means "Roofed lizard." Its habitat was in North America. It weighs 5,000 kg and is 8.5 m. long. This is another herbivore that eats ferns as well as cycads. It has 17 broad bony plates running from its neck and down its back, with four long spikes at the end of its tail.
  6. Triceratops - This dinosaur has low aggression and its name means "Three-horned face." It lived in Western North America. It weighs 10,000 kg. and is 9 m. in length. Its diet consists of low-growing plants like ferns and cycads.
  7. Tyrannosaurus Rex - This famous dinosaur has a high aggression level. It is interesing to note that its name means "Tyrant lizard." It is 12 m. long and weighs 9,000 kg., making it one of the largest carnivores to have ever walked the earth. It feeds on flesh and bone.
  8. Indominus Rex - This newly created dinosaur was made by Hammond Creation Lab in the movie. It may look like a T. Rex, but traces of Theropods, known as Abelisaurs, can be found in its ultra-tough bony osteoderms.

Director Colin Trevorrow has revealed a bit about the Indominus Rex in a report by Slash Film. He stated, "We were hoping audiences could discover this on their own, but yes, there will be one new dinosaur created by the park's geneticists.

"The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfill a corporate mandate - they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that's what they get."
