'Transformers 5' Release Date, Cast & News Update: Megan Fox Named Worst Supporting Actress

While everyone is eager to watch the Oscars and hear the winners of the prestigious award, the Golden Raspberry Awards have already been given out. The award, also known as Razzies, for Worst Supporting Actress was given to Megan Fox, reports the Metro

The Razzies award was given to Fox for her performance in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Super Hero Hype points out that the actress has been nominated for a Razzies award five times in previous years. She was nominated twice for "Jonah Hex," a comic-based movie. However, this year will be the first time Megan Fox has actually "won" a Razzies award.

Super Hero Hype adds that Michael Bay also won a Razzie award this year. The TMNT producer won Worst Director for "Transformers: Age of Extinction." Interestingly enough, Bay won the same award for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Despite Fox and Bay's Razzies, the two might be working together again in the next installment of the "Transformers" series, states Cross Map. Both seem to have forgotten past transgressions and worked together in TMNT, which Bay produced. According to Cinema Blend, Bay was the one who hired Fox to play April O'Neil in the TMNT movie.

Seeing the two work together has raised the hopes of loyal "Transformers" fans, who want Megan Fox to return to the franchise. Chances of Fox reprising her role as Mikaela Banes, seem to be even more likely, since Bay will not be directing "Transformers 5." Cross Map notes that Bay will still be part of the movie, but as a producer.

According to the four-time director of the blockbuster robo-car films, he is interested in making a different kind of movie. In an interview with USA Today, he says, "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles. Bay's newest film project is a documentary about elephant poaching."

Cross Map reports that the new director of "Transformers 5" is rumored to be Jonathan Liebesman, who directed the TMNT movie. He is said to be Michael Bay's protégé. However, as of now, this is just a rumor, as neither Bay nor Liebesman has confirmed this information.

According to Cinema Blend, "Transformers 5" will arrive in theaters on June 24, 2016 as stated by Paramount Pictures International SVP, Edward Ryan.
