‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Release Date, Rumors & Updates: Should Rockstar Do 'Manhunt 3' Instead? [Poll]

According to the Guardian, Rockstar stated that it will release a game this financial year, which ends on March 2015. With this in mind, and March just around the corner, rumors have been circulating about what game is to be released.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" has been on the top of the list. It has been ten years since "Red Dead Revolver" has come out and four years since "Redemption," according to Trusted Reviews. So, naturally Red Dead fans will be eager to see a new installment to the game.

Rumors of "Red Dead Redemption 2" were born after Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick branded the game as a permanent franchise back in May 2014. Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar studios, which is a subsidiary.

According to IGN, Zelnick stated, "I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others."

Despite this declaration by Zelnick, however, the Guardian seems to suspect that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will not be coming out anytime soon. The site states, "...we'd expect much more fanfare in the run-up to release." If there were to be a new installment of the game, though, Trusted Reviews believes it would be called "Red Dead Rebellion."

Meanwhile, Movie Pilot believes that there could be a "Manhunt 3" in the works as well. The game was received negatively in the past but could Rockstar be cooking up another installment for "Manhunt?"

Movie Pilot certainly thinks so and asked the opinions of other Rockstar gamers which title they would prefer this year -- RDR3 or MH3?

Gus Frank commented, "Personally, I think red dead universe is more interesting and has much more potential than the GTA franchise. Many won't agree with me, but I actually like Red dead R....Just more rich and mysterious time to live and play as a character in."

Frank later added that he also played both installments of "Manhunt," one of which he believes to be a masterpiece. However, he seems to still prefer "Red Dead."

James Sheridan shares the same feelings about "Red Dead," commenting, "red dead redemption was and is one of rockstars greatest creations ever in my opinion. Let go with red dead redemption 2 boys!!!!"

One reader, Mschri2008, did show a preference for "Manhunt 3" saying, "MANHUNT 3!! Hands down, the manhunt series is just far too interesting for R* to just [throw] the entire franchise away. There is also no other game that is like it. By the way, this game is hugely exaggerated with the violent content...."
