Country Singer Craig Morgan's 19-year-old Son's Death Caused by Boating Accident

The search and rescue efforts have been called off on Monday after the body of the son of Craig Morgan, 19-year-old Jerry Greer, was found dead after a boating accident.

Greer was missing since Sunday after falling overboard during a boating trip in Kentucky Lake Humphreys County, Tennessee. Greer and a companion were riding in a raft that was being pulled by a boat when it was thrown overboard. Greer was no longer able to resurface. The cause of death of Greer has not been released yet.

The other man that Greer was with resurfaced. Greer reportedly was wearing a life vest but it did not save him from drowning, E! News reported.

A statement from the representative of Morgan reads: "The family is grateful for the outpouring of support and requests prayers at this time as they privately mourn this terrible loss...Funeral arrangements are pending."

The body of the teenager was found in the water. The statement from the representative also said that he confirms the passing of Greer, who is the son of the country singer with his wife Karen. The statement also said that Greer was a 2016 graduate of Dickson County High School and planned to play football for Marshall University this coming fall.

The family of Greer is asking for privacy during this terrible time. He is now survived by his parents, his sister Aly Beaird and her husband Ryan Beaird, his brother Kyle Greer and his fiancée Chelsea Rogers, and his other brother Wyatt Greer.

The Tennessee Wildlife Recourses Agency is still conducting the investigation in order to understand what happened and what led to the events that eventually killed Jerry.

The country music community took to Twitter to post tributes for the family of Morgan. Brad Paisley wrote, "Myself, my band and crew, our hearts are broken for our friend @cmorganmusic and his family. There are no words." David Nail also said that he is praying for the family of Morgan while Martina McBride said she is heartbroken as she is also a parent.
