'Lucifer' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers & News: Maze Hooks Up With Aimee Garcia's Ella? Lesley Ann Brandt Approves of MazElla!

"Lucifer" on Fox is in the middle of filming episodes for its second season. New cast additions like Tricia Helfer and Aimee Garcia have been seen on the set with the show's stars --- Tom Ellis, DB Woodside and Lesley Ann Brandt.

It has been announced that Helfer will play Lucifer's mother, Charlotte, in the series about the devil who decides to leave hell and live on Earth. On the other hand, Aimee Garcia is going to play a forensics expert, Ella, per TV Line. However, it looks like the writers of "Lucifer" may be cooking up something else for the character. Could Ella potentially hook up with Lesley Ann Brandt's Maze?

The idea of bringing together MazElla sprung from when Aimee Garcia posted a photo of herself with Lesley Ann Brandt on Twitter. The actress wrote her admiration for her co-star and acknowledged that she is her #GirlCrush.

Lesley Ann Brandt retweeted the photo on her Twitter, where she also tagged the writers of "Lucifer" saying, "THIS needs to happen." She even thought up of the couple name, Mazella, which the writers think was actually brilliant.

It remains to be seen whether or not this pitch will see print on the script of "Lucifer." But if the actresses playing the characters already approve, how easy would it be to make it happen, right?

Meanwhile, "Lucifer" Season 2 will have Lucifer Morningstar his hands full with his mom around. Leaked photos of the first episode shoot already feature Lucifer dragging Charlotte away from what looks like conflict, per YVR Shoots. The devil's mom sure spells trouble!

Tricia Helfer described her character, Charlotte, as a woman with a lot of layers who is "fun to play," per TV Line. Viewers should recall that Lucifer was supposed to concede to his father and return to Hell at the end of "Lucifer" Season 1, but God sent him back to Earth because his mom is on the loose. He's been tasked to bring her back to the underworld.
