'Frozen 2' Release Date & Trailer: Kristen Bell Confirms Sequel Not Yet 'Green-lit'

Fans of "Frozen" seem to be getting their hopes up for a sequel, just to have it fall again and again. The first time was when Idina Menzel made a statement hinting that there would be a "Frozen 2." Now, Kristen Bell, her co-star in the movie, seems to have done the same.

The first hint that fans had of a sequel was ignited by "Let It Go" singer, Idina Menzel. She stated in an interview with Telegraph that a sequel and a stage musical were "all in the works." However, Christian Today noted that the actress later retracted her statement about a sequel to the movie.

Recently Kristen Bell again brought up the topic of "Frozen 2." The ears of fans pricked up at word of a sequel, only to fall down again when hearing it was not official yet. Bell, who play Princess Anna in the movie, talked to Bustle about the possibility of a sequel.

She said, "They haven't green-lighted it yet. There is so much speculation, mostly because people have wanted it so bad. They've read into quotes or otherwise. They definitely have not green-lit it."

The "Veronica Mars" star also adds that other members of the orginal cast would like a sequel just as much as the fans, reports Yibada.

"I would really hope they do, as all of our cast members would love to be involved. We're twiddling our thumbs and trying to nudge them in the right direction," Bell revealed.

It is hard to believe that there will be no "Frozen 2," since according to Youth Health, the movie has now turned into a franchise. The site reports that there is already a Broadway musical adaptation of the movie. Also, there are several children's book publications related to the movie.

In addition, Disney has made a sort-of sequel to "Frozen," which takes place several months after the original movie ends, reports Kpop Starz. According to Mirror UK, the half-sequel is entitled "Frozen Fever."

Aside from seeing their favorite characters again, fans will also be hearing a new song, entitled "Perfect Day." Yibada reports that "Frozen Fever" is a 7-minute short film and can viewed on March 13. It will be released in theaters before the viewing of Disney's "Cinderella."

The trailer for "Frozen Fever" - seen below - was released on February 25, 2015. Hopefully, this will keep fans satisfied even if "Frozen 2" does not get the green light from Disney.
