Toddlers are fun. Their sweet little ways never fail to make mom and dad happy and have the ability to relieve stress from a hard day's work. However it is during this time that your little boy or girl needs your utmost guidance now that they are starting to respond and act to the things they see around them. As parents it aslo at this time that right values must be taught now that they are in their formative years.

The following parenting tips will help you understand the importance of giving them guidance while their tiny brains are still be able to absorb the things you want to teach them.

1. Honesty - If you want to see your child to grow the way you want it, teach them how to become honest. And the best way to show him is to start with you. As a parent, you must exhibit honesty. If you promise something do it otherwise he'll think you're not being honest about the things you're telling him. If he lied don't accuse him of being a liar, thus tell your child he never lied and he's always honest.

2. Responsibility - For most kids at age 5 below always think they are the center of everything. It's always about them. Teach your kid how to become responsible for his actions. Show them how to be sensitive, make him realize it's not all about him that he should consider the things around him. If he fights with another kid tell him what he did was wrong and that he should be humble enough to say sorry.

3. Courtesy and Respect - Teach your child how to be grateful. Teach them to say "Thank You" if he received good deeds from others. Say "please" if he wants something. Say "Excuse me" if he will do something that will bother other people. Be a role model if your boy or girl sees that you're doing this s/he will eventually follow. But it's also important to refresh his mind each time.

4. Gratitude - Saying "Thank You" is sometimes not enough. Teach them how to be grateful as well. Show them how to be kind whenever somebody offer them toys or food. It's great to see your kid being nice to others.

5. Love - Saying "I love you" is good, but you also need to teach your boy to be affectionate. Embracing and kissing members of the family are really favorable. But you also need to tell him how much you love him. Holding and kissing him will make him feel he is loved and needed and he will gladly return the favor.

Teaching your toddler right values while he's still young will give you an assurance that you will have a kid that will be envied and followed by every kid at school as he grows up.
