ABC's "Modern Family" is one of the most popular American sitcoms today. This show has been a staple in most household. However, there are rumors that the adventure of the Pritchetts is about to end because ABC is about to axe "Modern Family." In fact, "Modern Family" Season 8 will be the final season.

'Modern Family' Season 8 The Final Season?

After earning several awards, "Modern Family" is heading to its end. According to Hall of Fame Magazine, among the reasons for the show's demise are the controversial negotiations and low ratings.

Per TV CheatSheet, the "Modern Family" cast received their last contract renewal ahead of Season 4. It was a tough process though with very contentious negotiations. Reports have it that the adult stars asked for huge raises, which resulted in a boycotted table read and legal suits against 20th Century Fox Television.

After the controversial misunderstanding that lasted for months, the production and cast agreed on a deal. The "Modern Family" cast received hefty raises and the case was dropped. However, the said deal will expire after "Modern Family" Season 8, which triggers the reports that the cast will ask for another raise again.

This time, the network might not give in and axe "Modern Family" instead. Thus, the future of the sitcom after "Modern Family" Season 8 is still bleak.

'Modern Family' Cast In Contract Negotiations

For those who wish that "Modern Family" will go beyond Season 8, there are still chances that it will. According to Deadline, the "Modern Family" cast is still in contract negotiations. Although we hope that this time there will be no disputes.

There are chances that the American TV mockumentary will still grace the small screens in the coming years, especially that it has won the top comedy award for five times. Per the report, the "Modern Family" might still make it beyond Season 8. It could ultimately run for 10 seasons.
