Jordan 7 'Marvin the Martian' Release Date & Price: Where to Buy?

The Air Jordan 7 "Marvin the Martian" is due to come out very soon, and Jordan fans should be excited.

According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, the Jordan brand will be releasing a Looney Tunes Collection, which will feature shoes inspired by "Space Jam". Ironically, however, the "Marvin the Martian" shoe is not at all inspired by the movie.

According to Nike, the shoe will come out this Saturday, March 07, 2015. There is a limit of only one pair of shoes per customer. The price for the shoe starts at $190, but this may differ depending on the size. The sneaker will be available in all family sizes.

Latin Post reports on all the sizes for the shoe and their varying prices. In men sizes, the shoe will be $190. Since, the site does not have a listing for women sizes, it is probably safe to assume that it will cost the same.

Meanwhile, grade school sizes will also be available for $140. In addition, Preschool sizes will sell for $80 and toddler sizes for $60. There is also an infant size for $45.

The official colors of the shoe are black, blue graphite, retro, and infrared 23, states Nike. It has a black-based upper in nubuck, reports Sneaker NewsAccording to Sneaker Bar Detroit, it is made of smooth leather and has blue graphite and infrared 23 accents. There is a retro green jumpman logo on the shoe and the number 23 at the rear of the shoe near the ankle as well.

Latin Post adds that the shoe has a multi-colored outsole. Sneaker News states that the multiple colors evoke the look of outer space. Although, it seems, Nike was really going for the look of Barcelona city's night lights.

The name of the shoe, "Marvin the Martian," may make people think of "Space Jam". However, Nike and the Latin Post reveal that it is really inspired by Barcelona's night time lights. According to Sneaker Bar Detroit the Barcelona lights were used for the shoe to avoid some legal issues.

Latin Post reports that Patrick Johnson of Sneaker News makes a statement about the true inspiration of the shoe.  Johnson states, "Initially thought to usher in the Looney Tunes reference with a Marvin the Martian nod, the shoe instead takes Mike back to the 1992 Olympics with a vibrant choice of Blue Graphite, Retro, and Infrared 23 to represent the Spanish city's exuberant night life."
