Melania Trump’s Speech: Did She Plagiarize Michelle Obama's Convention Speech?

Melania Trump spoke at the Republican National Convention on Monday. The speech that she delivered became quite famous!

It did not take very long for people to point out that Melania Trump's speech was very similar to Michelle Obama's 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention. Is that just a coincidence?

Many chunks of Melania Trump's speech were direct extracts of Michelle Obama's speech.

Prior to the Republican National Conference, in an MSNBC interview, Donald Trump and Melania spoke with Matt Lauer. Melania had said during the interview that she was responsible for her speech.

"I read once over it and that's all," Melania told Lauer. "Because I wrote it with as little help as possible. I'm excited."

Once the similarities were pointed out, Twitter was flooded.

Jon Favreau, Obama's chief speech writer tweeted soon after confirming the similarity.

However, the Trump camp supported Melania and were praising her speech. Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor for Trump, released a statement in which Melania's speech was defended.

"In writing her beautiful speech, Melania's team of writers took notes on her life's inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania's immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success."

Is this the worse that one can see in a political campaign or is it yet to come? Internet cried "Liar,Liar" after this!
