'The Winds Of Winter' Release Date, Latest News & Update: Long Delay Due To George R.R. Martin's Plan Of 'TWoW' and 'A Dream of Spring' Double Release?

Fans of "Game of Thrones" have been affirmed this week that there will be a delay in the release of the seventh season and many reports have surfaced saying that it is because of George R.R. Martin wanting the release of the sixth and seven books to be at the same time. He is also delayed in delivering the books as he is said to be distracted with other T.V. series.

The next book entitled "The Winds of Winter" is what is next after the series "A Song of Ice and Fire." The release for "The Winds of Winter" has been getting many delays in the past months and fans are reportedly getting frustrated.

Simultaneous Release Of 'Winds of Winter' And 'A Dream of Spring'

Fans have speculated on Reddit that the possible reason for the delay of the release of "Winds of Winter" is that Martin actually wants to release the eighth book "A Dream of Spring" together with the seventh book.

The Christian Times reported that there have been no confirmations about the possibility of "A Dream of Spring" and "Winds of Winter" being released at the same times but fans would like to believe it is a reason for the great delay. However, many fans are still losing hope as Martin has never mentioned that he is working on "Winds of Winter."

George R.R. Martin Distracted

Other speculations about the delay of the release of "Winds of Winter" is that Martin is actually busy with the television series "Penny Dreadful" and "Outlander." He has been talking about these series on his LiveJournal. He said that both the aforementioned shows should have gotten Emmy nominations. "Game of Thrones" has garnered 23 Emmy nominations this year.

George R.R. Martin at the World Science Fiction Convention

Fans could ask Martin himself about their speculation as he just announced that he will be participating at the World Science Fiction Convention this August 17 to 21 in Kansas City, Missouri. He shared that he will be signing books and other items and will also participate in panels, a reading, and other things.

It is possible that he would talk more about "Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring" during the convention. If and when none of the speculations turn out to be true, "Winds of Winter" is expected to be released by 2017.
