Jaguar News: JLR New Driving Technologies Tested To Change Driving Behavior? New Tech Aims To Provide Future Drivers With The Most Efficient Road Assistance

Jaguar technologies for driver assistance could change future driving and traffic behavior. As it is, drivers will be getting efficient road assistance from Jaguar.

At the moment, various car manufacturers aim to develop "driverless" or autonomous car technology - not Jaguar, however. Pocket-Lint reports that, instead, Jaguar simply aims to bring more efficient road and driver assistance to the table.

Such aim by Jaguar seems modest in comparison to what such manufacturers as Tesla Motors, Google, Apple, Audi, Mercedes Benz and Bosch target. However, parent company Jaguar Land Rover gave Pocket-Lint the lowdown on their new technologies.

The Co-Operative Adaptive Cruise Control (A-ACC) system is a Jaguar Land Rover technology that allows an almost seamless reaction to sudden stops or change in speed. Not only does the A-ACC system prevent road accidents, the Jaguar Land Rover system also lends well to road and fuel efficiency. Jaguar Land Rover also developed three complimentary systems, which enhances driver awareness of the surrounding. These three Jaguar Land Rover warning systems call driver attention the "horizon, hazard and emergency vehicles."

The Roadwork Assistance is Jaguar Land Rover answer to avoiding collision with road markers as traffic cones. Jaguar Land Rover uses a Bosch sensor that triggers steering wheel resistance and jolting maneuver when the driver is about to hit a traffic cone.

The Overhead Clearance Assist system, on the other hand, allows Jaguar drivers to manage vertical limit challenges more effectively. Whether the limit is set by overhead barriers in carparks and tunnels or from the roof load on the Jaguar unit, the Overhead Clearance Assist system enables drivers to avoid unnecessary loss, damage or delay.

Jaguar Land Rover also developed the Safe Pullaway system and complements the A-ACC. The Safe Pullaway system enables Jaguar drivers to avoid accidents in tight traffic spots and in roundabout areas.

While autonomous car technology has both merits and demerits as The Wall Street Journal reports, Jaguar Land Rover works with the preference of drivers who would maintain involvement when they are on the road. Only that with the Jaguar Land Rover driver assistance technologies this involvement has enhanced measures of safety and security.
