Samaire Armstrong Welcomes First Child Calin

Samaire Armstrong welcomed her first child, a baby boy on Sunday.

The 32-year-old "The Mentalist" actress shared the happy news on her Facebook page.

"Thank you sooo much for all the love!! Will post pictures after a little rest. We're all doing wonderfully," the proud mom wrote. "It was an amazing experience and we couldn't be more thrilled with our new arrival. :)) xoxoxoxoxo!!!!!"

Armstrong has named her baby Calin, People magazine reported.

The Facebook account of the new mom has been pouring with comments from well-wishers ever since she announced the news.

"i cant wait to see a picture of him wrapped in one of those lovely blankets! ; ) lol.. congratulations sweetie..," one of the fans wrote, while another one added, "Congrats.......Can't wait to see photos of the beautiful Mom with the little precious one......Happy Holidays to you all."

The "Stay Alive" actress announced her pregnancy on Twitter in October. 

The new arrival comes shortly after the "Dirty Sexy Money" star announced that she is ready to give birth.

"Ok baby. We're ready when you are," Us Weekly quoted Armstrong as writing on Facebook, Friday . "Eight day count down . . . 8 days?!"

In November, she confirmed the gender of her unborn baby.  

"May be he'll be a lawyer," she wrote after posting a photo with headphones around her baby bump.

Armstrong, who was born in Japan, made an entry into the film world with the movie, "Not Another Teen Movie."  She is well-known for her roles in movies like "Stay Alive," "It's a Boy Girl Thing" and "Around June."
