With Teen Wolf Season 6 in the middle of production, it is up to stars like Tyler Posey to make their own headlines. He did just that sparking off rapid fire searches of "Tyler Posey gay" among the most die-hard of the show's fans after a set of revealing posts on social media.

The 24-year old Teen Wolf Season 6 star posted a clip on his official Snapchat account that has sent more than a few tongues wagging about his sexuality. In the video, Posey was at the famous intersection of Gay and Christopher streets in Greenwich Village in New York City and then he smiled and shouted "This is me, I am this and this is me" after pointing to the street sign that says "Gay Street," Pride reported. He then said as if confirmation: "I've never felt more alive. I'm gay!" The video poses the question to fans: Is Tyler Posey gay?

The actor's representative quickly denied the rumors, stating that Posey was only being cheeky and when he said "gay," he meant "happy." The act has earned a variety of responses from those in social media with fans who are excited for Teen Wolf Season 6 defending the actor, Fusion reported. LGBT activists also slammed the former "Maid of Manhattan" actor for allegedly queer-baiting to raise interest in his project especially with Teen Wolf Season 6 coming later this year.

In other Teen Wolf Season 6 news, the new season will have a big spotlight trained on Stiles (Dylan O' Brien), with most of the villains coming for him.
