‘The Last Kingdom’ Season 2 Spoilers: Sneak Peek From The Set (Photos)

"The Last Kingdom" is starting to gain increased popularity, particularly after it was launched on Netflix last month. Season 2 production is already on, and the cast and crew are currently filming in Budafest. Some cast members have shared some photos from the set. Meanwhile, an actor is saying goodbye to his role.

Swedish actor Henrik Lundstrom ("The Bridge") captured a fight scene on the set, which shows a troop on formation and one soldier on fire. He posted the photo on his Instagram page and captioned it, "When you are on the side and capture some great moments on set. Here the great @seancamop in action."

He also shared a photo with some of the characters resting. "And it's monday and another hectic day on set," he shared. And then it looked like his character has met his demise when the actor posted a photo of himself in costume, with a farewell caption. Henrik Lundstrom wrote, "Well it's been an amazing time. Grateful for the friends I meet and have for life. For the chance of living a childhood dream and to work with absolute top players."

The actor continued, "But everything has an end and this is it for me for this time. Super excited for what ever the future holds and ready to just kick ass and work work work. All my love to everyone in Budapest I will definitely see a lot of you in the future and hopefully even on other productions. Now this Viking Ninja is coming home."

Meanwhile, Johannes Haukur ("Game of Thrones") shared the picture of the lobby of the hotel where he is staying for the filming of "The Last Kingdom" Season 2. He wrote, "The Hotel lobby. Just a place I call home for a wee while."

In the meantime, Martyn John, the production designer, shared how the set was design to reflect the period. "The Last Kingdom" was set in the late ninth century AD, where in England was divided into seven kingdoms. It will premiere on BBC Two and on Netflix in the U.S. in 2017.
