NBA Trade Rumors: Amir Johnson Heading To Lakers For The Team's Cap Space

There is no doubt that most, if not all, NBA teams and fans are all into the trade off. According to the reports, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers should work on a trade and have LA use their available cap space.

Lakers Prepping For Another Offseason Trade

According to reports, Lakers still have an available cap space for a handful of players. Per Basketball Insiders, Lakers could open up about $13.6 million in a cap room after holding Tarik Black, Marcelo Huerta and its second-overall pick Brandon Ingram.

Per Yibada, there are rumors that Lakers is saving its cap space for another offseason trade. The team reportedly has an "unnamed trade target in mind." The amount stated above is enough to trade for a quality and skilled veterans next summer when Russell Westbrook and Blake Griffin hit the free agency.

Parent Herald previously reported that Lakers want Oklahoma City Thunder's point guard, Russell Westbrook to join them. However, at the time, Westbrook is dedicated to staying with the Thunder for another year after Kevin Durant's departure to join the Golden State Warriors.

Lakers And Celtics Should Work On A Trade

According to reports, Lakers should give their cap space for Boston Celtics' big man Amir Johnson. Johnson's contract with Celtics is expiring but he will be a great addition to Lakers' young roster of players.

Amir Johnson averaged 7.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for Celtics last NBA season and there is no doubt that he will be a great guide for the Lakers' youngsters. For sure, NBA fans would agree.

"LA could definitely benefit in a deal like this as the Celtics have both picks and assets that they could work out a deal with the Lakers. It probably wouldn't happen until closer to the trade deadline, but this is definitely a player and trade to keep an eye on," Cody Williams of Sports Illustrated said per Yibada.

On the other hand, DeMarcus Cousins seemed to be flirting with the Lakers when he announced that it's his favorite team growing up. Since then, rumors start to make waves that the big man from Sacramento Kings will be moving to Lakers, Sports Rageous reported.
