‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: Norman Reedus Teases Cliffhanger Scene, Group Is ‘Broken Apart’ By Negan’s Kill

Season 7 of "The Walking Dead" will premiere on AMC in October, but fans of the widely popular horror drama are already itching to know who big baddie Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed using Lucille. Norman Reedus, who portrays Daryl, said in a recent interview that Negan's kill will not bode well with the group and will push them to take some dark turns.

Reedus told Entertainment Weekly that the Season 7 premiere will showcase the group struggling with the "complete change of power" and their world being "turned upside down." According to the 47-year-old actor, it's always fun to reunite with the cast members whenever a new season starts, but that wasn't the case for Season 7.

Reedus said shooting the continuation scene of the cliffhanger scene with Negan in the Season 6 finale was "exhausting" and "no fun." With the fact that they will lose a cast member all over again hanging above their heads, Reedus said shooting the Season 7 premiere was "definitely not a joyous reunion" for them.

Darker Turns For 'The Walking Dead'

Since Season 1, "The Walking Dead" has dealt with plenty of deaths and losses. Negan's kill, however, will break each member of the group differently.

Reedus told EW that some of them will accept the death; some would surrender power, fight it, and question it. Some people, meanwhile, will blame others or themselves. Reedus hinted that more horrible things will happen that would "completely destroy people" and end loyalties.

"The group is completely broken apart at this point. Negan has come in and completely shaken up everything," the actor further revealed to the news outlet.

What To Expect From 'The Walking Dead' Season 7

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will introduce new characters such as King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and his pet tiger Shiva, optimistic teenager Jennie, an older woman named Naomi who has some similarities with Carol (Melissa McBride), and a horseback-riding badass named Rodgers, Cinema Blend reported. The upcoming season has promoted Morgan as series regular, as well as Tom Payne (Jesus), Xander Berkeley (Gregory), and Austin Amelio (Dwight), TVLine listed.

At the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel last month, leading man Andrew Lincoln (Rick) said that Season 7 will feature one of the series' "greatest showdowns" since Terminus, TVLine further reported. Morgan (Lennie James), meanwhile, and Carol will head to the Kingdom in Season 7. In there, they will meet King Ezekiel.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premieres on AMC on Oct. 23 at 9 PM ET. Watch the series' official trailer below.
