‘Transformers’ Mobile Game: Hasbro, Kabam To Bring Autobots, Decepticons In 3D Multiplayer Offering

The "Transformers" franchise will invade the mobile platform afresh as Hasbro and Kabam announce their partnership over a new 3D multiplayer offering. Naturally, fans can expect to see favorite Autobot and Decepticon Transformers in this new mobile game.

VentureBeat cites Kabam in stating that the "Transformers" mobile game they will offer with Hasbro will focus more on the characters tied to "Transformers: Generation" rather than those presented by Paramount. Kabam qualifies nonetheless that the "Transformers" mobile game will lend movie support where relevant.

Given this, clues on the new "Transformers" mobile game are better dug from IDW "Transformers" comics rather than the Paramount entries into the franchise. By far, the titles developed by Paramount on "Transformers" include "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" and "Transformers: Age Of Extinction."

The media outlet cites Kabam chief operating officer Kent Wakeford in describing the target gameplay experience with the "Transformers" mobile game they are developing with Hasbro. "Kabam strives to develop mobile games that offer players years of entertainment and the Transformers' many colorful characters will allow us to deliver on that goal," Kent Wakeford stated.

Hasbro, through senior vice president Mark Blecher, highlights their objective of furthering their engagement in the platform through their "Transformers" mobile game partnership with Kabam. "Hasbro is committed to creating authentic Transformers experiences on every platform where fans have a presence and this partnership with Kabam is the latest step in our ongoing commitment to delivering, rich, engaging stories in the mobile space," Mark Blecher stated.

Variety reports that Kabam made its mark in the mobile gaming industry with such top grosser apps as "Marvel Contest of Champions" (Disney) and "Fast & Furious: Legacy" (Universal). What sets the new "Transformers" mobile game apart is the 3D multiplayer features of this offering by Kabam and Hasbro.

The "Transformers" mobile game will be released by Kabam and Hasbro in 2017. This coincides with "Transformers: The Last Knight," which Paramount is tagged to release on June 23, 2017.
