No Co-Sleeping for Kelly Clarkson's Baby: 'That’s Not Good Sleep'

If there's one Kelly Clarkson has not let her daughter do, it is to co-sleep with her parents. Clarkson admitted this in a recent interview with Radio Disney.

The "American Idol" winner revealed that she has not gotten on the trend of keeping 9-month old River Rose dependent on her parents, as People magazine reported. Clarkson shared, "A friend of mine was like, 'Our kid sleeps with us every night; it's this whole new way of life,' which is great for her."

The singer believes otherwise and went on to tell the reason for having a certain child co-sleeping principle, saying, "But in my world, we're sleeping. I don't want my kid rolling over and hitting me in the face. That's not good sleep."

The first Idol winner was never shy in admitting that little River has always slept in her crib. Clarkson described her strong belief of letting River sleep all by herself as an "adamant" one.

The 32-year old mom pointed out that, "I [She] don't want to create a kid that's stuck to my leg."

Clarkson referred to her and husband, Brandon Blackstock's little girl as a "Miss Independent." Coincidentally, this was the title of one of the "Breakaway" singer's songs, as well!

Clarkson described River as a gleeful infant that "when it's nap time, bedtime, she's like, 'Put me down. I want to lay flat. I want to roll on my own.'"

Kelly also expressed her desire to let River become whatever she wanted to someday. The first time mom does not intend to pressure her daughter to venture into the music industry.

Clarkson happily said, "I hope she's tone-deaf and [becomes] anything else ... a social worker, a lawyer, anything else."

In addition to River, Clarkson is the stepmother of a son and a daughter from Brandon's past marriage. Kelly and Brandon were married in October 2013.

Meanwhile, Clarkson admits that she is thinking about having a second baby. E! Online announced that Kelly shared that having a boy for her next child would complete the family. The singer openly said, "I'm purely hoping it is a boy so I can have the most magically wonderful pregnancy."

In a Music Times article dated April 7, it was announced that Clarkson confirmed she'd be releasing her personalized greeting card in American Greetings via Walmart. Previously, Taylor Swift released her own greeting card line for the same brand, as well.
