'Inside' News: Game Review and PlayStation 4 Release Date

PlayDead, the indie development team behind the critically acclaimed puzzle platformer "Limbo", has recently announced the release date of the much awaited follow up, "Inside", for the PlayStation 4.

Regarded as one of greatest puzzle games since it's release in 2010, "Limbo" has left fans in horror and awe of the game's hauntingly beautiful setting and addicting gameplay. IGN's Daemon Hatfield praises the game and places it among his favourites, calling the game an "incredible achievement", saying "Very few games are as original, atmospheric, and consistently brilliant. It belongs in everybody's collection. The journey may be over too quickly, but you will be entertained every minute." 6 years later, PlayDead has finally revealed their next puzzle platformer, in the form of "Inside".

The original announcement for "Inside" was made back in 2014, in Microsoft's E3 presentation. While initial reactions from fans were positive, there were worries due to the delays in the game's supposed 2015 release. In E3 2016, PlayDead revealed the incredibly cryptic, yet chilling trailer for "Inside". The game was released a few weeks later, exclusively on the Xbox One and PC.

"Inside" was finally launched in June 29, 2016 for the Xbox One and was available for download on Steam on July 7. The game was met with highly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Alex Newhouse of Gamespot gave "Inside" an 8/10 score, commending it saying, "This is a beautiful, haunting, and memorable game, a worthy follow-up to Limbo. Its puzzles, although rarely difficult, are engaging complements to the story."

This has led to PlayStation 4 users, wondering if and when "Inside" would be available for the console. According to CNET, there were reports that the game would be available some time in August, until PlayDead finally revealed the launching date for "Inside" will be August 23.

"Inside" is rated M, for Mature, for the game's violent themes and gore.
